It's not often that there's a SIX month gap between cup ties in the same season, but this Saturday sees Falkirk play their final National League Cup group stage fixture against Howe, following on from the pulsating 39:39 draw against Kirkaldy at Horne Park on 31st August.
Having subsequently lost 32:19 in a Fife derby at Kirkaldy, it could be described as a dead rubber for Howe, as they cannot now progress to the knock-out phase. However, they sit top of National Division 3 by a single point, with only one league fixture left to play, so they'll be keen to put on a strong showing to set themselves up for their title decider on 29th March.
Helpfully, Falkirk know exactly what is required to progress and what awaits them if they do: A victory with a try bonus and a winning margin of 14 points or more will earn a home tie in the quarter finals against Berwick next week.
As ever, your support for the team would be warmly appreciated by the players, coaches and committee.
