In an even and fiercely fought battle at Madras pitches in St Andrews, Falkirk were never behind until a last play try gave Aberdeen Gram the narrowest of victories by 35 to 33 points. With 3 tries each in the first half Falkirk lead 19-15 thanks to 2 conversions by Glen Faulds, tries scored by John McKenna, Alan Connolly and Duncan Scobbie. Opening the second half Falkirk backs continued to look dangerous scoring again through Kyle Rowe and Andrew Thomson, both converted. The 33-20 lead should have been good enough but Aberdeen were not finished yet and as the Falkirk sick bay filled up the pressure in defence mounted and loose tackles eventually told as Aberdeen forwards took the upper hand in the late stages to get the last minute winning try. As some of the team move on to senior rugby it was disappointing not to end with a win but it was played in great spirit and is only the start to some promising future Falkirk 1st team players.
